Which years and subjects does Nexus cover?

Nexus is for children in Years 3 to 6, ages 7 to 11. Subjects are 11+ Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Creative Writing, plus Mental Maths and, on Elevate, the Wider Curriculum.

Which exam boards is it written for?

Nexus covers Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Creative Writing, the skills tested by GL Assessment, CSSE, CEM, ISEB and Quest Assessments exams. Elevate also adds the Wider Curriculum for families whose schools set an FSCE paper.

What is the Wider Curriculum (FSCE)?

It is included in Elevate. It gives Years 4 to 6 thinking quizzes on foundation subjects such as science, history, geography and computing, for children whose schools set an FSCE paper. Maths and English stay in their own subjects.

How does Mental Maths work?

Each test has 30 questions, and your child types every answer. Skills are mixed and questions get gradually harder. On Nexus the test is timed: 20 minutes for Year 4 and below, 15 minutes for Year 5 and above.

How does a Nexus session work?

Your child watches a short video lesson that teaches the method, then practises. Questions adjust to their level as they answer, and clear step-by-step explanations help whenever they slip.

What will I see as a parent?

Your dashboard shows mastery for every subject, streaks and a weekly progress graph. Performance Trends show how your child is moving over time, so you can see where they are improving.

How does target school tracking work?

On Elevate, you can see your child's readiness and trajectory for a target school. A gaps matrix shows which 11+ topics to focus on first, and weekly scores are compared with the year group.

How does creative writing feedback work?

Elevate includes a Writing tab. Your child writes creative pieces, up to 4 a month, and receives feedback on each one to help the next piece improve.

Are there games, and does it work on phones?

Yes. Math Arena, Word Hub, Spelling Bee, Word Blitz and Sentence Weaver are in your child's Games area, alongside the Success Path. Nexus works on both desktop and phone.

What is the difference between Achieve and Elevate?

Achieve, at £39.99 a month, covers Maths, English and reasoning with 50 quizzes a month, 10 video lessons a week, games and the dashboard. Elevate, at £59.99, adds target school tracking, writing feedback and the Wider Curriculum.

How much time a day does it take?

We suggest 20 minutes a day. Short sessions add up, and the games help keep it fun.

What is the guarantee?

Practise for 20 minutes a day for 30 days and, if there is no measurable progress, you get a full refund. T&Cs apply.
